Resilience in Rhythm: Joseph Brant Museum

Resilience in Rhythm — Opening Night Highlights

On November 21, 2025, the galleries of Joseph Brant Museum came alive as community members gathered for the opening of Resilience in Rhythm: A Dance Story Across Generations.

Presented by Museums of Burlington in collaboration with danceScape, the evening celebrated 25 years of creativity, resilience, and connection through dance and technology. Guests enjoyed storytelling, a guided exhibit experience, beginner-friendly dance learning, and joyful social dancing — all surrounded by artifacts tracing danceScape’s journey from VHS tapes and cassette players to online learning and the age of AI.

Founded by Robert Tang and Beverley Cayton-Tang, danceScape’s story reflects how human creativity continues to adapt through every wave of innovation while keeping community at its heart.

The night also looked ahead, spotlighting Rise Through Rhythm — a new STE(A)M-inspired youth initiative blending movement, learning, and mentorship to support the next generation.

Thank you to everyone who joined us in celebrating the past, present, and future — and in proving that resilience truly lives in rhythm. 💫
