🇨🇳 Find Calm in Chengdu.
From Giant Pandas to Tai Chi.
Chengdu is famous around the world for its giant pandas and unforgettable Sichuan cuisine. But beyond its iconic landmarks lies another side of the city—one rooted in balance, mindfulness, and timeless traditions.
This graceful Tai Chi demonstration invites us to slow down, breathe deeply, and discover the quiet strength found in flowing movement.
Presented during Chinese Rhythm & Taste: Eat • Make • Share • Dine & Dance, this cultural celebration—hosted in partnership with @museumsburlon, @redleaf_cultural_integration, and @danceScape—brought the sights, sounds, and traditions of China to our local Burlington community.
✨ If you could spend one day in Chengdu, what would you choose first... meeting the giant pandas 🐼 or joining a morning Tai Chi session? ☯️

🇨🇳 Hear the Heart of China.
Let the music take you there.
Some journeys begin with a single step. Others begin with a single note.
Our journey continues in Luoyang (洛阳), one of China's great ancient capitals, through the timeless sound of the guzheng (古筝), the Chinese zither.
Performed by Ming Ming, the contemporary composition "If the Moon Hasn't Come" beautifully blends modern musical expression with one of China's most treasured traditional instruments. Once heard in imperial courts and cherished for generations, the Guzheng continues to connect people through its beauty and emotion.
This performance was part of Chinese Rhythm & Taste: Eat • Make • Share • Dine & Dance, presented by @museumsburlon, @redleaf_cultural_integration, and @danceScape.
✨ Close your eyes... where did this music take you?

🇨🇳 Experience China without leaving Burlington.
Our journey begins with Vast Land—a breathtaking opening performance celebrating the beauty, culture, and spirit of China.
This was the first performance from Chinese Rhythm & Taste: Eat • Make • Share • Dine & Dance, presented by @museumsburlon, @redleaf_cultural_integration, and @danceScape.
✨ Stay with us as we continue exploring China's rich traditions through music, dance, Tai Chi, and community.
What part of China—or Chinese culture—would you love to learn more about?

"When I first met Robert, I knew nothing about Chinese culture..."
Born in Britain, Beverley had never experienced the traditions, language, and family customs that became part of her life after meeting Robert, whose family is Malaysian Chinese with ancestral roots in China.
As she shares in this video, "bit by bit, you learn as you go."
That simple idea is at the heart of Chinese Rhythm & Taste: eat make share, dine & dance with @redleaf_cultural_integration
Culture isn't something we simply learn from a book. We experience it through food, music, dance, traditions—and, most importantly, through the people who welcome us in.
This is Episode 1 of our Chinese Rhythm & Taste series. Over the coming days, we'll share the performances, stories, flavours, and moments that made this evening so special.
Different cultures. Familiar rhythms.

Not every journey requires a passport.
Sometimes it begins with a conversation. A shared meal. A song. A dance.
Join @redleaf_cultural_integration and @dancescape as we take you behind Chinese Rhythm & Taste at @museumsburlon — a celebration of culture, community and connection through the eat make share: a taste of immigration exhibit.
🎥 Coming soon.

What if one evening became a journey you'll never forget?
Join @dancescape as we explore the stories that connect cultures—and discover how conversation, food, music and dance can bring a community together.
In our upcoming episodes, go behind Chinese Rhythm & Taste, part of @museumsburlon's eat make share: dine & dance series.
Experience an unforgettable journey across China created by @Redleaf_Cultural_Integration, where each destination came to life through music, song, dance, Tai Chi and cultural movement. More than a performance, it was an invitation to experience China's rich diversity by taking part.
The evening also featured the inspiring travelling exhibition from the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21, making its first stop in Burlington, presented by Museums of Burlington with the support of Bank of Montreal.
Hear Beverley's story of discovering Chinese culture through language—from surprising Robert's parents by speaking Cantonese to confidently ordering dim sum and noodles in their own language.
Hear Robert's story of family heritage, where the unforgettable tale of his great-grandfather's five wives unexpectedly became the key to remembering the five sections of a modern viral Chinese line dance.
Along the way, experience inspiring performances, authentic flavours from Hibachi Teppanyaki & Bar and Republik Asian Eatery & Bar, local wines from 13th Street Winery, craft beer from Nickel Brook Brewing Co., and a dance floor where neighbours became friends through shared experiences.
Because understanding another culture doesn't begin with a destination.
It begins with a story.
🎥 Follow the journey. The story begins soon.
