❤️ Three generations connected through music & dance ❤️ For Paty, music and dance have always been a connection to home. When she first came to Canada from Mexico, there were times when she missed family, familiar faces, and the traditions she grew up with. Through music, dancing, and the friendships she found through danceScape and the downtown Burlington community, she discovered a welcoming network of both Latin and non-Latin friends who share a love of music, dancing, culture, and connection. Today, we're celebrating something beautiful ❤️ Her family is joining her in Canada, and three generations are now sharing music, movement, memories, and traditions together. 🌴 Maria and Miklos from Burlington, Ontario originally came to danceScape wanting to feel more comfortable dancing socially ❤️ Recently while vacationing in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, their children secretly recorded this beautiful moment of them dancing bachata to a live Dominican band. At the end of the song, the singer gave them a high five while resort staff applauded them 🌸 What makes this especially meaningful to us is that they do not come from a Latin background — yet through music, movement, and shared experience, they felt confident enough to fully embrace the joy and culture of bachata alongside the local Dominican atmosphere around them. These are the moments that remind us dance is about so much more than steps. Confidence. Connection. Culture. Shared experiences.
